Maybe it’s his memorable last name. Could it be his bubbly personality? Or perhaps his wicked skills with hand saws and power tools? We can’t be certain, but we receive a hefty amount of positive feedback from our customers on the one, the only, Mike Jostmeyer.

Mike has seen and done just about everything in his 27 years as a Besel’s service technician. Plumbing, electrical work, remodeling, and more … but carpentry, and building sun rooms in particular, are his favorite parts of the work day.

That he enjoys working with his hands has served him well on many occasions. Of note, his most bizarre call involved removing a bird’s nest from the hood above a microwave inside a customer’s apartment. Momma Bird had found her way inside the building through a vent with a broken cover and set up shop inside the kitchen of the unsuspecting tenants.

On another occasion, Mike was called to downtown Leavenworth to deal with the collapsed gutter from one of the larger buildings. To his credit, he disposed of two 1-ton loads of pigeon droppings spilled onto the street below. “It all pays the same,” says Mike. “I just do what I do.”

In nearly three decades of working with Besel’s clients the moment that stands out as his funniest experience occurred when, years ago, the wheels fell off a scaffold next to the one on which he stood. That crashed into his, which also collapsed. From 10’ up, Mike fell straight down and landed on his feet! He literally walked it off. (Thankfully, no one else was injured in the event, either.)

Mike has been instrumental in the success of the current generation of the Besel’s team. He’s knowledgeable, personable, skilled, and fun to be around. We can’t guarantee that when you call Mike will arrive on your doorstep, but we are happy to state that he also serves as a mentor to other service technicians and often supervises their work.

Thanks for all you do, Mike!
