David Greenamyre

President

David joined Besel’s in 1984, after serving as city manager or assistant city manager in Leavenworth, KS, Overland Park, KS, and finally Overland Park, KS.  Over the years, David has been active with the Leavenworth-Lansing Chamber of Commerce, Leavenworth County Economic Development Corporation, Leavenworth Main Street, and was a board of Commerce Bank.

Get to know David:

  • Whose is your favorite sports team? The Kansas Jayhawks.  Everyone knows that.
  • What is your nickname and where did you get it? Most people who have known me since childhood know me as ‘Hoppy’, thanks to Hopalong Cassidy.  For those of you who don’t know, Hopalong Cassidy was a fictional cowboy hero with a radio and TV show.
  • What was the last thing you bough? Golf balls.
  • Whose is your favorite sports team? The Kansas Jayhawks.  Everyone knows that.
  • How do you like your eggs cooked? Scrambled.
  • What is something you’ve never done, but would like to try? Skydiving.

Jeremy Greenamyre

Vice President

Jeremy joined Besel’s in 2012.  He is active in Leavenworth real estate, a board member of the Leavenworth County Development Corporation, and the Commerce Bank Advisory Board.  He is married with three children.

Get to know Jeremy:

  • What was your first job? My first job, which started in middle school, was cleaning the shop in our roofing department.  So much sweeping.  After that, during summer break in high school and college, I was tearing off flat roofs or driving trucks to the dump.
  • What’s your favorite holiday? Halloween, no question.  It’s so easy and fun, and everyone’s in a good mood.  And, the weather is usually pretty nice.
  • What is the most memorial place you’ve been? India.  If you ever feel like you’re on a different planet, go there.  I had a wonderful experience and would gladly return, but it’s just so different from the US.  It really needs to be experienced first hand to begin to fathom the differences.
  • What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten? Fried chicken feet.  My first and last time.
  • Do you have any pet peeves? Left-lane bandits.  FYI: The left lane is for passing.  Get the heck over.

Brenda Schwinn

Office Manager

Brenda has been with Besel’s since 1995.  Since then, Brenda has worked in every department, until finally settling in as office manager.  Her duties include accounts payable/receivable, payroll, HR, and so much more.

  • What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play? Men’s KU Basketball, KC Royals Baseball

Brenda Harding

Scheduling & Dispatch

Brenda has been with Besel’s since 2016.  Brenda has year of experience in the home improvement sector, having worked for a number of years at the local Westlake Hardware.  Brenda is often the first person to answer the phone.  She schedules appointments, dispatches our technicians on schedule, and keeps the office on track.

Get to know Brenda:

  • If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cooking, cleaning, or yard work? Cleaning!  (Emphatically)
  • What is the most memorial place you’ve been? Italy.  Just don’t ask her to speak Italian.
  • Is there anything you wish would come back into fashion? Bellbottoms.
  • What’s your favorite holiday? New Years Eve.
  • What did you want to be when you were small? Flight attendant.  Free travel.

Cheryl Swartz

Customer Service

Cheryl has been with Besel’s since 2017.  Cheryl worked as office support at one of the local school districts for 16 years.  Prior to that, she spent 10 years in the home/auto insurance world.  Cheryl is the first person most people see when walking into the office.  She assists estimates, office management and customer service.  In her free time, she enjoys antiquing, spending time with her family, camping, and reading (especially Janet Evanovich).

Get to know Cheryl:

  • What’s your worst bug-related question?  Not a bug, but I’ve been stung by a jellyfish in Mexico.
  • What is your spirit animal, and why?  Horse.  They are strong, majestic and free.
  • Do you have any superstitions? Nope.
  • What is something that people think makes them look cool, but actually makes them look ridiculous? Saggy pants.
  • Would you rather have a ten-hour car ride with someone you absolutely cannot stand or a thirty-hour car ride (with no stops) with someone you absolutely love? Car ride with someone I love, obviously.
